Benidorm, who doesn’t know the famous resort. It is often thought that Benidorm is only full of elderly, English and retired Dutch people, but there is more … Benidorm has a very beautiful beach, the sand is fine and the boulevard is very cozy throughout the day and evening. What completes the picture are the calm warm waves that invite for a swim. Benidorm is wonderful and certainly not only for the elderly!

BEACH OF BENIDORM
The city is located on the Costa Blanca which is known for its golden colored clean and very safe beaches. The coast at Benidorm has the finest sand to be found in Spain and that naturally feels great on your bare feet.

LONG COASTAL STREET
When you drive into the city, the clear azure water sparkles towards you. The coast is 6 kilometers long and there is always a place for your car and for your lounger on one of the beaches where you can spend the whole day well.

BEACH LEVANTE
The best known beach is Levante, if you really like socializing and entertainment, then this is the place for you. On this beach you will find the nicest (internationally oriented) bars, restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. For water sports enthusiasts, this beach is also the place to be with a water ski cable car as the biggest draw. You can also go jet skiing, windsurfing, snorkeling, diving and screaming on a banana boat.

AUTHENTIC BEACHES PONIENTE AND MAL PAS
For an authentic Spanish beach you go to the smaller Poniente. This beach also invites you to never go home again! For a child-friendly beach in a unique location you go to Mal Pas.

CLIMATE
Nice is that throughout the year Benidorm has a pleasant and mild climate with an average temperature in January and February of 12 degrees. So you will not see snow in this town that soon!

CITY AND SURROUNDINGS
The city has a lot of high-rise buildings, and when you arrive you will be amazed by the often special buildings. Large, impressive villas stand against the hills in the green hinterland of Benidorm. The area is very green and less than an hour’s drive away is the authentic Alicante, which is certainly worth a visit. Another city that you can visit is of course Valencia! You can reach this city within 1.5 hours and when you take the inner road or the toll road along the coast you will be amazed by the varied landscape.

SIGHTSEEING IN BENIDORM
In the city itself there are a number of beautiful places to visit, such as “Iglesia de San Jaime y Santa Ana”. This church is located in the upper part of the old city center of Benidorm and was built between 1740 and 1780 after the miracle of the “Virgen del Sufragio” (the patron saint of Benidorm). You can also take a walk in the marina and eat a tasty tapa. In the evening the large promenades are illuminated and you have a beautiful view while enjoying a vino over the calm sea.

NUEVO TABARCA
Excursions can also be booked. For example, you can go from the marina to the islet of Nuevo Tabarca. The crossing takes 1 hour and 15 minutes and the small island used to be a pirate’s nest. In the Nuevo Tabarca museum you will become acquainted with the history of this island. You can still find remnants of an old prison and the island has several small bays. Don’t forget to bring your snorkeling gear, because the water is crystal clear so you can see the colorful coral well.

NIGHTLIFE
Lloret del Mar and Salou are nothing compared to Benidorm. This city was in the 80s the place where you had to go for the good nightlife. However, this has become a little less, but it is still one of the better cities for good entertainment. The best thing about the nightlife in Benidorm is that it has an enormously varied selection of clubs, pubs, discos, but also other types of entertainment such as; Cabaret cafes, comedy shows, imitators and brown bars.

ACCESSIBILITY
Car: about 1.5 hours on the AP-7 toll road, about 2 hours on the AP-7 and A7 without toll
Bus: 1 hour and 45 minutes, departure from the Estación de Autobuses de Valencia, for example via ALSA
Carpooling: drive along with a local via BlaBlaCar.

TIPS
Benidorm is a good base for winter visitors. The place is sun-safe and almost always pleasantly warm.
If you are struggling with health problems such as asthma, rheumatism, winter depression or, for example, chronic fatigue, Benidorm can be the place where your ailments are reduced. This is due to the microclimate; the warm weather, the many hours of sunshine, salty water and dry air.
